Cincinnati Enquirer reports that The University of Cincinnati will start testing Phase I experimental cancer treatments in an effort to turn its program into a national leader in cancer treatment and research.
This means that cancer patients in the region who have exhausted other options will no longer have to travel hundreds of miles for access to cutting-edge therapies.
UC's program focuses on solid tumor cancers, including brain cancer. In fact, UC has a specialized brain tumor center, established in 2008.
This is exciting news - maybe Anne and the Brains on Bikes team can stop by when they cycle through the area.
